Five years have passed since the launch of the updated eGov Mobile application

Today, eGov Mobile, which provides public services to approximately 4 million monthly users, reaches every second citizen of Kazakhstan. The first version of the app, launched in 2012, was called mGov and offered services like receiving address and pension statements, property and encumbrance information, and a service for paying fines, taxes, and state duties. By 2019, mGov provided around 70 public services.

In 2019, the app underwent a rebranding and redesign, becoming the eGov Mobile we know today. A key milestone was the introduction of biometrics in 2020, which improved access to public services, especially during the pandemic.

In the 5 years since its update, eGov Mobile has seen a 15-fold increase in users, and now offers 90% of all public services. Monthly active users have reached 4 million, with over 190 thousand daily active users. eGov Mobile provides 208 public services and 759 services with subtypes for individuals on the e-License portal, as well as 34 eGov Business services.

Thanks to the “Digital Documents” service, citizens no longer need to carry physical documents. Kazakhstani citizens have used digital versions of their documents over 13 million times. This service was later integrated into popular banking apps for added convenience. Another key feature is the ability to obtain a digital signature (DS) and sign documents using a QR code, with this method used around 9 million times to date.

The eGov Mobile application is available on the App Store, Play Market, and HUAWEI AppGallery, supporting both iOS and Android devices. There are over 3.6 million iOS users, over 5.1 million Android users, and over 850 thousand users on the HUAWEI platform.

July 2024 saw the launch of eGov Business, a new component of mobile e-Government designed for entrepreneurs. This app allows small and medium-sized businesses to access public services via their smartphones. With eGov Business, users can register the first head of a legal entity, apply for a DS, sign documents via QR code, and more.

Today, eGov Mobile is a leading platform for government services in Kazakhstan. It is an essential tool for citizen interaction with the state, reflecting growing user interest and trust. With more innovations on the horizon, the NITEC team continues its mission to make public services accessible and convenient for every citizen of Kazakhstan.
